Meaning:
Yama, the god of death, has become anxious seeing that people have taken to singing the name and glory of Rama. He has cautioned his messengers armed with tridents and nooses to curb their zeal and activities. People have taken seriously to the Taraka Nama, which is capable of protecting them from terrible hells as easily as the redoubtable sage Agastya swallowed and dried the ocean in one gulp. No wonder the god of death is concerned. TO add to his discomfiture, he feels that even those who would normally be hell-bent have taken to the songs of Tyagaraja and hence will evade his net.
