Meaning:
Damsels dear to Krishna! What penance must we have performed, what charity must we have indulged in, to have this privilege, this great fortune? As Krishna, consort of Shri, holds court, we can juxtapose our cheeks with his and our lips with his, and install Him in our hearts. Are we not gems among women? Our youth transcending that of Shri is our precious wealth. Is it not that which won Him to our side? Our desired have been fulfilled totally. We can feast our eyes on Krishna to our hearts content. Friends! Wearing pretty jewels of gold and dressing ourselves daintily in charming apparel, to offer with His consent our bodies to Him in complete abandon, what an unimaginable and unattainable blessing! Elegant damsels! Near this river in spate, we have assembled happily and communed with Krishna whole-heartedly. To be in the presence of the Lord ShrI Ranga, how have we deserved it? Young ladies! Can even Brahma and other Devas attempt to describe this? To enjoy communion with Krishna, the Friend and Mentor of TyAgarAja and urged by the spate of enthusiasm to sing His praises in delicate ragas appropriate to the occasion and mood, what spiritual merit must we have earned in our previous births!
