kANa mukti tarum tillai - In Tillai (Chidambaram) which gives Mukti upon seeing it,
tANuvAi irundu - residing as Sthanu (the unchanging one),
sONagiri vallavar - the adept one of Arunachala,
panca bANanaik-kaNNAl eritta - who burnt Manmatha who has five arrows, with his (third) eye.
purANa sundarar - the ancient, handsome one,
nirvANar enum - known to be the embodiment of pure, ultimate bliss,
aruL seyum - who showered grace
tamizh mUvANarukku - upon the three poet-saints of Tamil (Sambandar, Appar and Sundarar)
pErambala vANar - the resident of the great Sabha,

Adiya gangai punaindu - bearing the moving Ganga
nIDiya sen-chaDaiyin - in his long, tawny matted locks
kUDiyoLir - shines together (with River Ganga)

kunjara carma dharar - the one wearing the elephant skin,

vincu kanaka sabEsar - the lord of the excellent Golden Hall,
tam nenjil udayam purinda - who emerges(lives) in the heart of
tanjam enru aDaindavar - those seeking Him as refuge.
