A: sAshanka ratipati bANa jAla - (to) the bunch of arrows of Manmatha, sent with trepidation
tUla kAlAnalam - ( he is as) the cataclysmic fire to cottonwool.
C: ajnAna timira taraNim - (He is) The Sun to the darkness of ignorance,
angIkrta shruti saraNIm - the one who approves the path of the Vedas,
su-jnAna sukha karaNim - the causer the bliss of pure knowledge,
sUkSma praNavAraNim - the araNi (flint-like wood) that ignites the subtle consciousness or Omkara.
Notes : araNi is the wooden instrument that is used to kindle fire in Yagnas through attrition/churning.
